South Extension of Hibiya-Dori

people in town

When people in Tokyo say “Hibiya-Dori (Hibiya Avenue)”, it means the avenue which passes between the Royal Palace and Tokyo Station. But this avenue is a bit longer than they think: actually this avenue runs between Ochanomizu Station in the north and Tamachi Station in the south. It is one of the backbones of Tokyo city center.

You can recognize Hibiya-Dori as the avenue under which Toei-Mita Subway Line runs. There is no station very close to Shimbashi station, but there is Onarimon Station in the south of Shimbashi area and Uchisaiwaicho Station in the north of Shimbashi area.
