Tsukishima

Tsukishima is a landfill site which was completed about 130 years ago, so it is rather a new town for Tokyo. But interestingly, many people in Tokyo have misunderstanding that Tsukishima is a town which still keeps the fragrance of Edo (the old name of Tokyo before Meiji restoration). This is probably because this town is famous for Monja-Yaki, a kind of traditional Japanese-style pancake. Monja-Yaki restaurant owners in this town are doing well, because they have collaborated with each other to gather on an alley and named the alley ” Tsukishima Monja-yaki Street”, which is attracting many tourists . I hope this street will be filled with visitors again when Coronavirus pandemic is over.
