For people outside Japan, the name “Takadanobaba” sounds queer and looks like another language. In fact, the pronunciation of this name is “Takada no Baba” It means “the riding ground in Takada village”, which came from the training ground for horse riding by samurai warriors 400 years ago.
But for people in Japan, Takadanobaba is a typical town for university and college students. Surrounded by many of them, and located conveniently on Yamanote loop line, you can find many reasonable restaurants and pubs in this area. I hope this town be filled with many students again after overcoming the current pandemic.
