Akabane is the northernmost downtown of Tokyo 23-Ku, and an important junction for railways. In addition to them, it has another feature : it is called “mecca for drinkers”. Yes, there are countless pubs in Tokyo, in every town and at every corner. But, there are few places for drinkers where many people flock to drink and chatter enjoyably along the streets from afternoon. Akabane-Kitaguchi (the north area of Akabane) is famous for such a style.
In other words, the restaurants for drinkers (called “Izakaya”) in this area are quite close to the pubs in London. Prices are reasonable, attract many kinds of workers, and they do not mind formality . You can get cheerful if you spend a few hours in this area with your friends.
