Ginza Line is the oldest subway line in Tokyo. It first opened almost 100 years ago, and was the only one subway line in Tokyo before WWII. Naturally, the route of this line was under the busiest streets and joined the busiest towns at that time. Now such streets and towns has slightly changed, but still this line is said to be the most important subway line in Tokyo.
This history brought another problem: this most important subway line has the smallest capacity among Tokyo subway lines .Trains which consist of only 6 cars run under Ginza street. That’s why this line is always congested in spite of the highest frequency , every four minutes all day long.
