Tamachi Station , which is one of the stations on Yamanote Line between Tokyo Station and Shinagawa Station, has two gates , West Gate and East Gate. West Gate has been the gateway to a typical Japanese traditional downtown area, with small shops. restaurants and bars.That is partly owing to Keio University , which is located near this station.
Such features still exist, but a new wave is coming to this area. West Gate faces Route 1. so many office developers is turning to this area . There are many office buildings built or being built in this area, which are changing the atmosphere of this area. The station building of West Gate is now small, but in the near future this scene will probably change dramatically.
