Shimbashi Station Platform

From today , I will feature scenes around Shimbashi area. The first picture is Shimbashi Station Platform.

The current Shimbashi Station used to be a secondary one. The “primary” Shimbashi Station in the past was the first railway station in Japan which started in 1872. When the current Tokyo Station opened in 1914, the “primary” Shimbashi station turned into the main freight train station in Tokyo, and the current Shimbashi Station became the only one passenger station in Shimbashi area. Now Shimbashi Station is growing again because it came to accommodate the urban trains to the north.
