You can find a shrine among the skyscrapers in Toranomon area. That is Kotohira Shrine. It is interesting that this shrine is absorbed in a modern building.
Kotohira Shrine is one of the most famous shrines in Japan, located in Kagawa Prefecture in Shikoku island. Toranomon Kotohira Shrine is a branch shrine of that. in Edo era, the Daimyo (lord under Tokugawa Shogunate) who ruled the current Kagawa prefecture area brought this branch shrine into his residence in Edo. Though absorbed into a building 10 years ago, the shrine keeps its status as a landmark of Toranomon area.
