Aroma Square is located almost just across JR Kamata Station and Ota Ward Office. Aroma Square is the name of a block with two large buildings and a park . One building is Nissei Aroma Square, an office building, and the other is Ota City Hall Aprico.
This space has a significant history for Kamata. 100 years ago, when Kamata was a rural farming area, two distinctive enterprise moved to this space. One was Kamata Film Studio, the symbol of modernism at that time, and the other was Takasago Fragrance factory . These events were the starting point of urban Kamata. 10 years after then, Kamata Film Studio moved away, and Takasago Fragrance Company bought that space for expansion. 20 years ago, the factory also moved away, and the current Aroma Square took over the space. That is why this space is named Aroma Square , and the headquarter of Takasago Company is still in this office building.
