“Inari” means the fox-shaped god in Japan’s indigenous culture. So Anamori-Inari a shrine which enshrines that god.
This shrine is very close to Haneda airport , just beyond a narrow channel. But until the end of WWII, Anamori-Inari was located at the very site where the current Haneda Airport is located. When US occupation military came to Tokyo, they forced Anamori-Inari to move to the current position to expand Haneda airport (then “Haneda Air Base” ). I do not know whether people visiting the shrine on this warm day have knowledge about such history.
