Takashimadaira is the name of an area in the northwest part of Tokyo 23-ku (in Nerima ward). But, when people in Tokyo hear “Takashimadaira”, 100% of them think the apartment complex built in this area, the total number of the rooms about 10,000. When they were build 50 years ago, they were the symbol of modern-day life , with the highest apartments of the day. Young people at that time rushed into this area. The front square was overwhelmed by countless toddlers and children.
But this complex could not escape from the fate of Japan’s aging population and lower birthrate. It was a sunny Sunday, but less than 10 children were found there. I believe people living in this complex will find the way to change this area to glow it again.
