This is a photo inside Hotel Okura . You may notice a big lantern hanging from the ceiling.
This is the famous “Okura Lantern”. Okura Lantern was a famous feature for the former building of Hotel Okura, which opened some 60 years ago and closed a few years ago.When the closure of the former hotel building was announced, many people ,not only in Japan but also from outside Japan, missed the beautiful Japanese-style lantern . But the owner of the hotel was well aware of the value of them, and they brought this lantern to the new building too. Thus Okura Lantern still serves as the symbol of the hotel.
