Jonan-Jima is a landfill site facing Tokyo bay with some recreational parks and beaches. It isn’t so popular even for people in Tokyo, but the reason why I take up this site is because it represents the attitude of people in Tokyo. Many people came to visit there to enjoy breathing deeply without masks, without minding other people nearby. In contrast to rumors that Japanese people are used to wear masks, they are also fed up with that choking cloth on them.
