The streets of Tokyo are so complicated that even people in Tokyo cannot point out which street they are on. There is a clear reason about this: When Ieyasu Tokugawa opened this city 500 years ago, he intentionally planned streets and avenues to mislead his enemies about where they were. I will show you some streets which even people from overseas can understand easily.
This is Uchibori-Dori. This street is the most inner loop of Tokyo: some people call this street “Loop 1”. The reason is apparent. This street runs along the inner moat of the imperial palace, that is , used to be the inner moat of Edo castle. Inside this loop is the residence of the royal family. Many people enjoy 6km-jogging along this street.
