Nerima

Even some people in Tokyo do not know that the town named “Nerima” exists, because they think Nerima is the name of an area, not a town, due to the famous ward “Nerima-ku”. In fact, Nerima is the key town of Nerima-ku, not only for its city hall but also its shopping area and railway station. Up to 60 years ago, this town was nothing but a small village amid the vast radish field to the northwest of Tokyo, but after that it absorbed plenty of people commuting to offices. That is why this town has a smack of suburban cities outside Tokyo.
