Togoshi-Ginza is located in the southwest part of Tokyo District. As you can guess, “Togoshi-Ginza” was named after “Ginza” . There are countless shopping arcades throughout Japan which were named after Ginza, but Togoshi-Ginza is said to be the first of this kind. When Ginza was completely devastated by Great Kanto Earthquake 100 years ago, some people carried pavement stones of Ginza street to this area to build shopping arcade here, so Togoshi-Ginza can claim to be the authentic child of Ginza.
Togoshi-Ginza has another feature. It is one of the longest shopping arcades in Japan. This street is not merely long : this street is always busy . A lot of shoppers in this street makes us confident that daily lives for people in Tokyo are continuing even in COVID-19 .
