Nishi-Nippori (Nippori West) is the station on the northeast part of Yamanote Line . This station is relatively new : it opened about 50 years ago. Since then, the area around here is called “Nishi- Nippori”.
For tourists from outside Japan, this is a nondescript area. But for people in Tokyo, especially for teenagers, this area has special meaning : Kaisei high school is located here, just two or three minutes’ walk from Nishi-Nippori Station. Kaisei high school is positioned at least among three top-level high schools in Tokyo, with best and brightest students not only in Tokyo but also from all over Japan.
