Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo is located in Shirogane area, about two or three miles north of Shinagawa Station. Shirogane area is famous for high-class residential area, with many mansions (big houses). Miyako Hotel chain is from Kansai area , which has luxurious hotels in Kyoto and Osaka and other cities in the west part of Japan. When this hotel chain opened “Miyako Hotel Tokyo” 50 years ago, it was one of the top-class hotels in Tokyo, attracting lots of rich travelers from overseas.
Time passed by , and many top-class hotels opened since then. But this hotel has not lost its prestige. One of the reasons is the location of this hotel which its competitors are hard to catch up with.
