The basic rule of this website is to introduce sites and architects within Tokyo 23-ku area. So this week’s topic is an exception.
When you see southward from Tokyo bay area on a clear day, you may spot an object in the sea beyond Haneda airport, and wonder what that is. That is the ventilator of the tunnel called “Tokyo Bay Aqua-line expressway”, which crosses Tokyo bay. This ventilator is named “Tower of Wind”. The “island” for this ventilator belongs to Kawasaki City, which is adjacent to Tokyo 23-Ku. It is hard for most of travelers from abroad to imagine the whole shape of this, so I posted this photo for them.
