Takebashi (“Take Bashi”means “Bamboo Bridge”) is the bridge which expands over the moat of the Royal Palace, that is, the moat of Edo Castle up to 150 years ago. But for most people in Tokyo, Takebashi means the name of the area around this bridge, because they know the name of “Takebashi Station” on Tozai Subway Line.
This area is regarded as cultural place. You can see in the photo a symbolic building in front of the bridge, which is the headquarter of Mainichi Newspaper, one of the leading newspaper company in Japan. On the other side of the bridge, there is Tokyo National Modern Art Gallery ,and the Museum of Science.
