Shinagawa Station became more famous because Keikyu Line, or Keihin-Kyuko Line, one of the large private railway companies in Tokyo , named its Shinagawa Station as the gateway to Haneda Airport . It is just about 15 minutes from this station to Haneda Airport by using rapid trains , no less convenient compared with most major international airports around the world.
Considering the importance of this station, it looks so humble with just three tracks. But, this station is going to change drastically. In five years, the current facilities are to be demolished. The new platforms and tracks will be built at the same level of JR lines, which will provide more convenience to passengers. At that time, Keikyu Shinagawa Station will become more important, and must attract more passengers.
