Kiyosumi Park is located in the east of Tokyo. It is about 2 miles from Tokyo Station to this park, but most people use subway lines to reach there, with its nearest station Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. It is one of the main parks in the east part of Tokyo.

This park has a long history. Up to 400 years ago, this area was a large marsh which faces Tokyo Bay. Along with the expansion of Edo (Tokyo), this area was turned to residential area, and a Daimyo constructed a large garden in this site. After the Meiji Restoration,Yataro Iwasaki, the founder of Mitsubishi conglomerate, bought this garden and introduced western-style. After the Great Kanto Earthquake, he donated this garden to Tokyo City office. Since then, this garden has been loved by people in this area, with many people enjoying walking, jogging, and playing with their children.
